Chemical Peels
Chemical peels go deeper than your daily skincare routine to treat fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, acne scars, dark spots, and dullness. A series of treatments delivers cumulative results that improve the tone, texture, and overall health of your skin.
What Are Chemical Peels?
Chemical peels are professional treatments used to improve the appearance and texture of the skin on the face, neck, or hands. A chemical solution is applied to the skin, causing the outermost layers to exfoliate and peel away. The new skin that replaces it is typically smoother, more even in tone, and less wrinkled.

Chemical Peel Checklist
Prep
Incorporate retinol into your daily skincare routine six weeks before your chemical peel appointment. Your provider will advise which retinol is best for your skin type and current routine.
Plan
Expect to peel for up to seven days after your appointment. Plan to stay out of the sun and wear limited makeup while your skin heals, revealing a brighter and smoother complexion.
Perfect
For optimal results, a series of chemical peels spaced four to six weeks apart is often recommended. Maintain your daily medical-grade skincare routine between treatments, including daily SPF and routine exfoliation.
Preparing For Your Treatment
For best results, treat your skin with a retinoid for four to six weeks before your chemical peel.
Discontinue retinoid and prescription skincare products five to seven days before your peel.
Avoid laser hair removal, electrolysis, and waxing five to seven days before the procedure.
Allow at least two weeks between your chemical peel and any additional aesthetic procedures such as IPL, microdermabrasion, or laser treatments.
If you have received recent treatment with Accutane, please wait at least six months after discontinuing the medication before scheduling your chemical peel.
You must not be pregnant or breastfeeding to receive a chemical peel treatment.
Post-Treatment Care
Avoid washing your face for five hours after the peel. Waiting until the following morning typically produces the best results.
Exfoliation typically begins two to three days after your treatment and may continue for up to seven to fourteen days.
Use only the provided gentle cleanser and hydrating cream while your skin is actively peeling.
Do not peel or pick at flaking skin. You may trim loose edges with small scissors or allow the skin to exfoliate naturally.
Avoid sun exposure while actively peeling. Use SPF, wear a hat, and stay out of direct sunlight for seven to fourteen days.
